Please see information received from Johannesburg Water: “Good morning. We have a major burst pipe in Runnymead Chartwell on the 350 ac main. The team has started isolating water. Affected areas include Cedar Lakes; Cedar Creek; Cedar Ave west; Broadacres shopping centre; Chartwell and Farmall.” At this stage, there is no expected repair time.

We have just received information from Johannesburg Water that they are still working on the repair and the new expected time for completion is midnight.

Johannesburg water had to drain the excavation in order to work on the pipes. They have since repaired two of the burst pipes in Chartwell and are still busy with the 3rd one in the main line. Estimated repair time has not changed and is still 5:00pm.

From Johannesburg Water: ”We have confirmed that Renico construction is laying storm water pipes in the area. The excavation process has resulted in damages to Johannesburg Water network. The depot is in the process of sourcing material to complete repairs.”  

Johannesburg Water has confirmed that there is a burst pipe at Zandfontein Depot at Swallow and Oak in Fourways. They have closed water. The team is onsite busy with repairs. Low water pressure has been reported in the area. They have the Life Hospital with water through our their mobile tankers. We will provide an update…
